Rishi has worked to improve healthcare, patient experience and outcomes for over 20 years in a variety of roles focused on shaping and implementing government policy, working with health and care providers and redesigning services across a region. He is passionate about the use of technology to enable clinical and operational change and to empower patients to manage their own conditions.

Rishi Das-Gupta is currently the chief executive of the Health Innovation Network (HIN). The HIN is an NHS hosted, membership organisation, focused on spreading innovation which has been proven improve patient outcomes or staff experience. The 55 HIN members span NHS organisations, care providers, universities, Local Authorities, and healthcare commissioners as well as a small number of private sector participants. The HIN also hosts the DigitalHealth.London accelerator and several programmes to help innovators develop solutions and the evidence base for their products.

Prior to this he was Chief Innovation and Technology Officer at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS FT and worked as a Director of Operations across a hospital group with 6 sites. and medical doctor. Rishi has spent the last 9 years focused on effecting technology-enabled clinical and operational change to improve patient care and experience. From 2003 to 2013 he worked as a strategy consultant at Oliver Wyman and McKinsey and Company. His experience includes projects developing and implementing health policy at a regional and national level in the UK and USA. In addition to his primary medical qualification (M.B., B.S.) Rishi holds an M.A. in law (University of Cambridge) and an M.B.A. (London Business School).

Rishi’s experience spans UK and US healthcare systems and he is a fellow of the Sciana programme collaborating with German and Swiss healthcare leaders. Prior to this role he has held executive roles at NHS trusts as CITO, Director of Innovation and as Director of Operations and worked as a medical doctor.

In addition to his primary medical qualification (MBBS), Rishi holds an MA in law (University of Cambridge) and an MBA (London Business School).
