Relationships with London Clinical Networks

The Clinical Senate has a close relationship with London’s Clinical Networks. The Clinical Senate may draw on the expertise and experience of a clinical network in considering advice about a relevant clinical area and conversely clinical networks may request strategic or system-wide advice from the Senate. The Senate may offer advice to support delivery and impact of key outcomes.

Clinical Directors of pan-London networks are invited to the Clinical Senate Forum, and NHS England’s Director for Clinical Networks attends Senate Council meetings.

Relationships with other Clinical Senates

There may be times when matters under consideration impact across the geography of more than one Clinical Senate, for example issues of service reconfiguration where there are patient flows or service provision across the borders of London. Consequently, there will be occasions when Clinical Senates will to work together to consider an issue and provide advice.
