Dr Bhatti has been a GP and educator in Tower Hamlets for over 20 years.
Alongside this she developed her interest in medical education, focusing particularly on initiatives to recruit and retain doctors in the workforce, including leading in London on the Induction and Refresher scheme and the refugee doctors programme and nationally the GP Retention Scheme.
She was HEE Head of School for General Practice for North Central and East London until recently, with a remit to reduce differential attainment. During this time she led on the implementation of London’s Workforce Race Equality Strategy in Primary Care for the HEE London Primary Care School.
