Jo qualified as a doctor in 1990 and immediately specialised in psychiatry, nearly all spent in London becoming a consultant in adult psychiatry in 2000. Having worked primarily in a clinical role for many years she then became Medical Director in CNWL in 2016 – 2021 responsible for clinical leadership in adult services across four London Boroughs amongst other trust-wide services. In this role she led on a number of large scale transformational programmes to translate the vision of the Long term Plan for mental health into frontline delivery.

She has also had a long term interest in clinical ethics.

Since leaving CNWL Jo is working in a number of advisory and consultancy roles for other mental health trusts as well as Medical director for RwH, a Data analytics company.
